New Schedule to Be Announced Next Month
Samsung Electronics vice chairman Lee Jae-yong’s trial related to the Samsung C&T-Cheil Industries merger has been postponed due to COVID-19. The trial preparation procedure has been put off from Jan. 14.
This has to do with the Office of Court Administration’s advice to postpone non-arrest cases with COVID-19 spreading again. The court is planning to announce a new schedule next month.
Earlier, in September 2020, the 11 Samsung Group personnel including the vice chairman were indicted without detention on charges including professional malpractice, market manipulation and transactions in violation of the Financial Investment Services and Capital Markets Act.
