Smart Watch Smartphone

Rumors have been widely circulated about Samsung Electronics' launch of a new smart watch equipped with a Universal Subscriber Identity Module (USIM).

According to industry sources on August 7, Samsung is planning to unveil its new smart watch, tentatively named the “Gear Solo,” along with the Galaxy Note 4 in Berlin early next month.

Samsung's existing smart watches, the Galaxy Gear, the Gear 2, the Gear 2 Neo, and the Gear Fit, do not have voice call functions, and those models can only be used by syncing with smartphones. However, the most notable characteristic of the new version is that with its own USIM, the watch can now also be a phone.

Therefore, it is possible to receive calls using this product when people leave their smartphone at home. The new smart watch is reportedly using 3G mobile communications, and it can also be used with the existing Gear series by being tethered to smartphones.
