Customer Service

In commemoration of the second anniversary of the launch of Chevrolet, GM Korea offered an extraordinary customer service program under which customers can exchange their cars with new ones in case of a car accident within 3 years of purchase. The company aims to boost their domestic market share to 20% in the mid and long term through enhancement of their customer service.

During a press briefing at the COEX Millennium Square in Seoul on March 7, GM Korea made it clear that the company will upgrade its existing customer care program “Chevy Care 3.5.7” to the “Chevy Care 3.5.7 Assurance” while celebrating Chevrolet’s second anniversary.

The existing “Chevy Care 3.5.7” program offers three kinds of customer care services; a three-year free maintenance including exchanges of engine oil, filter and air cleaner, a five-year or 100,000-kilometer warranty for the vehicle and general parts, and a 24-hour free roadside assistance for seven years. The new “Chevy Care 3.5.7 Assurance” program adds one more service to the existing program; replacement with a new car if the car is damaged in a collision within three years of purchase.

More specifically, this additional service is available only if the driver’s negligence is 50% or less (negligence standards accepted by the General Insurance Association of Korea) and the damage amount is 30% of the car purchase price or larger (based on the statement of the insurance payment). “The Chevrolet brand successfully settled with full recognition in 18 months after its first introduction to the Korean market. We saw a 12% and a 4% sales increase in 2011, the first year of the introduction and in 2012, respectively, compared to the previous years. Indeed, Chevrolet made a decisive contribution to our domestic growth. We will have a double-digit market share this year and keep expanding our market dominance to a 20% level in the mid and long term in Korea,” said Sergio Rocha, Chairman of GM Korea.
