To transform Busan into a medical tourism hub, improve its competitiveness in the global medical tourism industry, and attract foreign patients, the City of Busan announced that the 2014 Busan International Medical Tourism Convention will open at BEXCO from Sept. 12 to 14 this year.

The Busan International Medical Tourism Convention has opened every year since 2009 with a goal to become one of the top three medical tourism cities in Asia by 2020. It is organized by the City of Busan, managed by Busan Medical Industry Association, and is to be sponsored by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute.

This year’s event will be the largest ever held since its inception. The City of Busan and Busan Medical Industry Association are attracting participants like medical institutions, medical equipment, agencies, other related companies, and colleges.
