Up to 100 Mil. Won to Be Granted to Each Company

Officials from startups attend C-Lab Outside Demo Day held at Samsung Electronics R&D Center in Umyeon-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul in November 2019.

Samsung Electronics has selected 18 startups eligible for financial support under its C-Lab Outside program.

They were selected from among 501 companies that applied for support. The competition ratio was 28:1. Those selected companies specialize in diverse technologies, ranging from artificial intelligence (AI) and 3D technology to technologies for serving visually impaired people or taking care of pet dogs.

C-Lab Outside is a program designed to support startups outside Samsung Electronics. It is an expansion of the C-Lab program for the company’s in-house startups. C-Lab Outside was launched in 2018 to rev up the Korean startup ecosystem by spreading the know-how Samsung Electronics has accumulated through the operation C-Lab for the past eight years.

Due to concerns about new coronavirus infections, the demo day was held online.

The selected startups’ fields ranged from AI and healthcare to deep tech, and contents services. They will be able to use exclusive office space inside Samsung Electronics' R&D campus for one year beginning in January 2021, and will receive mentoring from experts from Samsung Electronics, participate in IT exhibitions at home and abroad, and receive up to 100 million won in business support.
