To Speed up Construction of OLED Plant

Samsung Display's Campus in Asan, South Chungcheong Province

Samsung Display will send about 100 engineers to India via a chartered plane on Nov. 6 to accelerate the completion of an OLED module plant in India.

The engineers, who include officials from partner companies, are sent to the company’s plant for medium-sized OLED panels that is being built in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, northern India. The dispatched workers will undergo COVID-19 tests and self-isolation before starting work at the plant.

Samsung Display has been building the OLED module plant since early 2020 to supply parts to Samsung Electronics' smartphone plant in Noida, which was completed in 2018.

The OLED module plant is scheduled to go live in the first half of 2021. The urgently dispatched engineers will speed up the completion of the project.
