To Expand Hydrogen Cooperation with Russian Firms

South Korea and Russia have agreed to launch a hydrogen vehicle sharing service together in Moscow.

South Korea and Russia held their first seminar for cooperation in the hydrogen industry on Oct. 28. There, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of South Korea and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia agreed to launch a hydrogen vehicle sharing service together in Moscow. In addition, South Korea will expand its cooperation with Rosatom and Gazprom for hydrogen supply and utilization.

The seminar was attended by Hyundai Motor and Hyosung Heavy Industries as well as the largest nuclear power and gas companies in Russia. The participants discussed how to better collaborate in the fields of hydrogen mobility, hydrogen charging infrastructure and hydrogen production and supply.
 

They are aiming to successfully move ahead with the projects discussed at the seminar so that tangible achievements can be obtained in the near future in the form of the second seminar, high-ranking exchanges in the industry, and so on.
 

“Russia is capable of economically producing hydrogen with its abundant natural resources and South Korea has advanced technology for hydrogen utilization,” the South Korean ministry said, adding, “The potential of the collaboration is huge indeed.”
