Kolon Global said on February 13 that it had entered into a 30 billion worth of business agreement recently with Namyang Dairy Products and LG CNS to push through Energy Service Company (ESCO) project.

It refers to a type of project in which a firm that specialized in energy conservation invests in a facility and then recoups its investment through energy savings that come from the facility it invested in. The project in question concerns an energy conservation project at Namyang’s plant in Sejong. It involves replacing the existing old boiler with a new pro-environment renewable bio boiler with a 30-ton capacity and installing a 5㎿ steam turbine generator.

One official at Kolon said, “We will further step up efforts to expand energy conservation business down the line.”
