To Showcase Healthy Residential Environment

SK Engineering & Construction (E&C) announced on Sept. 16 that it has opened "Home Internet of Health Things LAB" in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, in cooperation with InBody, the world's No. 1 company in body composition analysis.

The new lab showcases a future-oriented residential environment. The lab introduces “Home Internet of Health Things (IoHT)” technology that combines health functions with Internet of Things (IoT), which remotely controls lighting, gas valves and home appliances. SK E&C's intelligent ventilation system, which measures indoor air quality and keeps it optimal, was also incorporated in IoHT.

Customers can have their health conditions such as body composition and exercise ability checked at the lab, which in turn offers customized exercise programs and diet information. In addition, the lab is also equipped with infrastructure that enables biometric remote monitoring and various health education services, allowing visitors to experience total healthcare in preparation for the era of telemedicine.

Moreover, the lab shows convenient and safe life with automatic control of a main porch, the automatic calling of an elevator, a parking location service and an alarming service which interlocks with a home network. One single device can control all of them. In particular, grabbing the device with one hand for three seconds will trigger a nearby emergency bell and alert security personnel and family members.

Meanwhile, GS E&C provides customized residential services through the "Xi AI Platform," an artificial intelligence platform based on big data. The platform is a futuristic housing management system that analyzes and manages various data generated in apartments. The platform was designed with security as the most important point. GS E&C is also paying a lot of attention to the protection of personal information by encrypting it.
