Widely-popular mobile messaging app LINE turned over nearly 1.7 billion won (US$1.66 million) in May with sales of stickers made by users. 

According to Naver, the company behind LINE, on June 17, the LINE Creators Market posted about 1.7 billion won (170 million yen) in sales between May 8 and June 8. 

The LINE Creators Market is the place in which users around the world can sell their own LINE stickers on the LINE Store, after they are screened by LINE Corporation. Creators get half of the proceeds of their stickers. 

Roughly 800,000 people registered 12,000 sets of stickers in one month and a half, after April 17. User-made LINE stickers can be purchased in Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, and Indonesia at the moment.
