Chairman on the Mend

 

“Test results show that Chairman Lee of Samsung Group is in stable condition, and his condition has improved considerably. So, he was moved to a normal hospital room on May 19,” said spokespersons for Samsung Medical Center (SMC) and Samsung Group on May 20. 

Chairman Lee was rushed to the emergency room of Soon Chun Hyang University Hospital Seoul owing to acute shortness of breath on the night of May 10. Immediately after arriving at the hospital, he underwent a procedure to have a stent inserted in an artery to widen it. After that, he was transferred to SMC, and is said to be treated with sedatives at the moment to receive a medical treatment during sleep. 

The chairman is still unconscious, and the medical team reportedly continues to keep him sedated so that he can recover in a slow and stable manner in consideration for Lee’s age and medical history.
