Smoother Motion on Smartphone Displays

Samsung Display announced on June 4 that its OLED panels with 90 Hz and 120 Hz refresh rates recorded the industry’s highest level in terms of image drag length (Blur Length) and moving picture response time (MPRT), and were certified by SGS as "seamless displays."

SGS is one of the world's best certification agencies established in 1878. It is headquartered in Switzerland.

SGS said that Samsung Display's 90Hz and 120Hz smartphone OLEDs exhibited image drag length of less than 0.9mm or 0.7mm, and video response speed of less than 14ms or 11ms. This is the highest level in the industry, the company claimed.

Samsung Display claimed that its Seamless Display has 20-50 percent smoother motion than competing panels.

A refresh rate is the number of images that a display displays in one second. 120 Hz means that a display can show 120 frames over one second, and the higher the number of a refresh rate, the clearer and more natural an image is expressed.
