College graduates and job seekers formed long lines in front of the booths of the Samsung Group partner firms that participated in the May 15 job fair.

Companies of the Samsung Group held a job fair on May 15 at the COEX Convention Center in Samsung-dong, Seoul.

More than 200 small and mid-size enterprises working with 10 of the subsidiaries of Samsung, including Samsung SDI and Samsung Electro-Mechanics, participated in the event. They are divided into the hidden champion companies designated by Samsung, such as Daeduck Electronics, and the 122 and 23 primary and secondary subcontractors of Samsung Electronics. They joined the event to hire 2,000 employees.

Twenty human resources managers from the Samsung Group attended the fair as well to provide resume and interview consulting services as liaisons. The consultants recommended employers for those who applied for job matches in advance.

The event was first held two years ago, when 158 companies worked with 6,000 job seekers. Last year the numbers increased to 250 and approximately 10,000, respectively. The number of job seekers exceeded 6,000 in the morning session alone this year.
