Designed to Spur Development of Vehicle-related Services

Hyundai Motor’s Genesis brand announced on May 20 that it will introduce an open vehicle data platform, "Genesis Developers." The platform processes data such as driving information, mileage, and driving habits that are collected from vehicles using the Genesis-Connected Service and provides them to individuals and corporate customers.

Business operators who wish to develop connected car services and products can receive data by signing up on the Genesis Developers website and writing down where they will use the data. Member companies have the advantage of developing a variety of innovative services and products linked to vehicles, while Genesis customers can use more advanced customized car services and products.

In particular, Genesis customers can use services of Genesis’ business partners without a separate registration process by simply linking the Genesis account. Genesis Developers will provide customers with connected car services from four affiliates — Hyundai Marine & Fire, OilNow, Owin and Cartax — in a bid to promote the platform in its early stage of operation.

Genesis plans to secure and analyze large-scale data generated from the inside and outside of a vehicle, and various customer contacts.
