A Four Camera Phone with a Large-capacity Battery

Samsung Electronics will begin to receive preorders for its budget model Galaxy A31, which is loaded with a quad camera and a large battery. Starting with the Galaxy A31, Samsung is set to release the Galaxy A lineup, which is expected compete with the 500,000-plus won Apple iPhone SE.

The Galaxy A31 features a 48-million-pixel main camera, an 8-million-pixel ultra wide angle camera, and a 5-million pixel depth camera, and a 5-million-pixel close-up camera. In particular, the texture of objects, such as flowers and food, can be captured with photos using a close-up camera. The battery has a large capacity of 5,000 mAh and supports 15W fast charging.

The Galaxy A31 will come in three colors -- prism crush black, prism crush blue, and prism crush white. The price is 374,000 won and it will be released as an unlocked phone and models affiliated with Korea’s three major mobile carriers.

The official release date of the Galaxy A31 is May 7, and it will square off with the iPhone SE, which will be released in Korea on May 6. The iPhone SE has received a lot of attention because it is the first budget phone released by Apple in four years. The iPhone SE features the sane A13 Bionic chipset as the premium phone iPhone 11, but it will retail at 550,000 won to 760,000 won depending on storage capacity.
