A Contract Worth 700,000 Euros

Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) will supply nuclear power plant facilities to Nuklearna Elektrarna Krsko (NEK) in Slovenia.

KHNP announced on April 21 that it has been selected by NEK through an international open tender as the supplier of magnetic material removal equipment for a condenser at Krsko Nuclear Power Plant.

The project will cost about 700,000 euros. In order to increase the safety of a steam generator at Krsko Nuclear Power Plant in Slovenia, a magnetic material removal facility will be installed inside a condenser. A condenser cools water vapor into water.

The facility to be provided by KHNP was developed in 2010 by KHNP and Daedong PI, a small Korean company. The facility proved its excellent performance at Kori Units 1 and 2. Krsko Nuclear Power Plant has the same nuclear reactor as Kori Unit 2.
