Foreigners on Selling Spree

The Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) edged down 0.04 percent to close at 1,717.12 points on March 30.

In that trading session, foreign investors net-sold stocks worth 421.4 billion won whereas individual and institutional investors’ net purchases totaled 197.4 billion won and 218.7 billion won, respectively.

The starting index was 1,670.34 points, down 2.76 percent from the previous session. Various governments’ economic stimulus measures and investors’ purchase at lowered prices raised the index during the trading session.

The KOSDAQ index rose 3.69 percent to close at 542.11 points. Foreign investors net-bought shares worth 38.9 billion won while institutional and individual investors net-sold those worth 26.5 billion won and 4.4 billion won, respectively.
