The Nokia 1100 was the mobile phone that recorded the highest sales volume in the world last year. Phone Arena reported on April 27 (local time) that Nokia sold over 250 million units of the mid-market model last year on a cumulative basis.
The Nokia 1100 became the electronics product with the world’s largest sales volume in history, too. Phone Arena mentioned the cheap price and short subscription contract period as its advantages, adding that the model still has all of the basic functions of a mobile phone.
The handset comes with a 96x65 pixel black-and-white display and lacks a Web browser, camera or mobile data plan. Only four lines of a text message can be seen on the screen at a time.
