Hyosung Heavy Industries has suspended its plant for ultra-high voltage circuit breakers in Pune of India in compliance with the Indian government’s recommendation.

"Hyosung Heavy Industries decided to stop the plant from March 24 to mid-April," a Hyosung Group official said on March 25. However, Hyosung TNC's spandex plant in Maharashtra, India is in normal operation.

Hyosung's Pune plant has been producing ultra-high voltage circuit breakers since 2016 and is a base for building power infrastructure in India and neighboring South Asian countries and the Middle East.

Hyosung said that the action was taken as the Indian government recommended it to shut down the plant from the end of this month.

However, in the case of the spandex plant, which has been operating since September 2019, Hyosung is in talks with the Indian authorities for normal operation of the plant as severe damage is expected once its production process is stopped.
