SK Hynix’s operating profits again surpassed 1 trillion won, two quarters after the third quarter last year.
The company posted on April 24 that this year’s first quarter operating profit stood at 1.06 trillion won (US$1.02 billion) while its sales stood at 3.7 trillion won (US$3.6 billion). The operating profit surged 233.6 percent year-on-year from last year’s 317 billion won in the same period, while sales saw a 34.6 percent increase year-on-year from last year’s 2.8 trillion won.
First quarter DRAM shipments also went up by 20 percent year-on-year thanks to the normalization of the output of the Wuxi factory in China. NAND Flash saw a decrease in Average Sale Price (ASP) by 14 percent due to seasonable demand weakening and its shipments also dipped 8 percent year-on-year.
