Mobilizing Robots to Fight COVID-19

LG Electronics robots are doing a good job in preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Seoul National University Hospital announced on March 23 that it has decided to use the LG CLOiGuideBot and the LG CLOiCleanBot, which were jointly developed with LG Electronics, in controlling visitors to the hospital and cleaning the hospital in an effort to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus in the hospital.

The guide robot takes visitors’ body temperatures and asks visitors about their respiratory symptoms. The robot reduces the risk of spreading the virus by converting face-to-face procedures to untact ones.

The cleaning robot can safely clean hospitals based on its indoor autonomous driving and obstacle avoidance technology. It is loaded with a H13 high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter to maintain a clean environment.

LG Electronics continues to develop robots and robot-related solutions for use in various fields. The company is expanding cooperation with robot technology companies, startups, universities, and research institutes to speed up robot technology development.
