Mobile Shopping Convenience Improved

It is getting easier for merchants to reinforce their competitive edge in mobile commerce through Kakao Talk.

Global e-commerce platform Cafe24 announced on March 19 that it is integrating its platform to Kakao’s account-based business solution, Kakao Sync.

Kakao Sync now enables Cafe24 merchants to utilize its various mobile business services. Merchants can provide store customers with one-click membership Sign Up and automatic Log In services through Kakao Talk. Merchants can also use notification and customer chat functions on Kakao Talk Biz Message to run their customer communication channels more efficiently. These new capabilities will help merchants gain new customers and improve customer satisfaction.

Kakao Sync’s biggest advantage is that it allows for precise mobile target marketing by using big data. Big data analysis automatically categorizes customers into groups according to specifications like date of membership, date of their most recent visit, purchase history, and so on. Merchants can refer to these categories to organize optimized marketing campaigns for specific audiences like customers that have bought from rival brands and customers that have been inactive for a long while. Merchants will be able to leverage big data insights to increase participation in promotions and conversion rates, ultimately growing store sales.

Cafe24 CEO Lee Jae-suk said, “It is becoming vital to equip merchants with various services to boost their mobile commerce capabilities.” He added, “Cafe24 will work to establish more partnerships with companies like Kakao to poise our merchants for success.”

Meanwhile, Cafe24 and Kakao signed an MOU last December for the vitalization of e-commerce marketing.
