Leader in U.S. Home Electronics Market

Samsung Electronics retained its No. 1 position in the U.S. home electronics market in 2019 with a 20.5 percent share. 

Samsung Electronics ranked first in the U.S. home electronics market in 2019 with a 20.5 percent share, according to market researcher TraQline.

Samsung picked up the first position in the U.S. household appliance market for four consecutive years. In the fourth quarter of last year, it retained the No. 1 spot with a 21.6 percent share, the highest-ever quarterly share.

In particular, Samsung dryers nabbed first place for three straight years with a 20.8 percent market share in 2019. Their market share in the fourth quarter of last year was 21.5 percent.

Major products such as washing machines and refrigerators also maintained their top spots in the U.S. market. Washing machines took first place for four years in a row with a 20.5 market share in the fourth quarter. In particular, Samsung drum washers, which are often purchased together with Samsung dryers, kept their leading position with a market share of 29 percent for the whole of 2019 and 27.5 percent in the fourth quarter.

Samsung's refrigerators placed first for four years running with a 23.7 percent market share in 2019 and a 25.5 percent share in the fourth quarter. Samsung’s French door refrigerators with a refrigerating top and freezing bottom kept their top position for the 11 consecutive years with a 32 percent yearly share and a 34.9 percent in the fourth quarter.

Samsung's microwave ovens took second place with a 14.5 percent market share. In addition, the company’s microwave ovens with cooktop at the top and a microwave oven in the bottom came in second with a 17.5 percent share.
