An SK Telecom official explains partnership plans between SK Telecom and Microsoft to game developers at an Xbox developer event held at Microsoft Korea's main office in Seoul on Jan. 15.

SK Telecom and Microsoft have jointly held the first Xbox developer event in Korea and will expand cooperation between the two companies.

SK Telecom announced on Jan. 15 that it has sponsored an Xbox developer event at Microsoft Korea's main office in Jongno-gu, Seoul and explained its game business alliance model and plans to game developers. SK Telecom is the exclusive business operation partner for Microsoft’s Project X Cloud in Korea.

Jeon Jin-su, head of the 5GX Service Business Division at SK Telecom, explained SK Telecom’s game business plan to Korean game developers.

X Cloud is an innovative technology that enables smartphone users to enjoy high-definition and large-size games of Microsoft's console Xbox without downloading. The two companies have been tentatively providing X Cloud to a free consumer test panel of SK Telecom's 5G and LTE services since October 2019.

The event was a seminar not only for game developers but for those working in the game industry. It marked the first Xbox developer program held by Microsoft in Korea.
