SK Innovation will unveil its future car vision “SK Inside” at the coming CES 2020, the world's largest consumer electronics and IT exhibition to be held in the United States.

The company announced on Jan. 2 that it will showcase a package of technologies necessary for innovation for future e-mobility, including cutting-edge electric vehicle (EV) batteries, ultra-light and eco-friendly vehicle materials, and various lubricant products.

SK Innovation is the only Korean petrochemical company to participate in CES 2020, which is to take place in Las Vegas from Jan. 7-10 (local time).

The company plans to introduce SK Inside with its subsidiaries including SK Global Chemical, SK Lubricants, and SK IE Technology, and create synergies with other SK Group affiliates that participate in the trade show, including SK Telecom, SK Hynix, and SKC.

SK Innovation plans to present its vision of future EVs by combining moving model cars and large screen images. In addition, it will unveil anode materials NCM 9 1/2 1/2 and NCM 811, which boost an electric car’s mileage. The materials are based on ultra-long cell technology and the world's best high-nickel manufacturing method which enhance battery energy density and maximize efficiency.

In addition, the company will display a lithium-ion battery separator (LiBS), a key material that improves battery stability and increases output. Moreover, it will unveil new application models such as airplanes, trains, and ships that are based on batteries. It will also display a wide range of eco-friendly and lightweight materials and lubricants that will accelerate innovation in the E-mobility sector.

SK Global Chemical will exhibit materials used as interior and exterior materials of eco-friendly and ultra-light vehicles. It will introduce materials applicable to future vehicles such as vehicle structures, dashboards, car bumpers, door trims, and tires. The materials can reduce vehicles’ weight and energy consumption as they have the same strength as steel but light weight.

SK Lubricants will show EV fluids optimized for EV batteries based on its capabilities as the global leader in advanced lubricants. These products maintain temperature (15-35 degrees Celsius) for a battery's optimal performance and optimize the operating efficiency of a motor system.

Flexible cover windows (FCWs), a core material for flexible displays, is garnering much attention as a core item that enables future cars for autonomous driving to be used as office spaces and infotainment spaces in addition to traditional display applications such as TVs and mobile phones. The material can enable higher technology such as a transparent fingerprint sensor and a transparent antenna that enhance car security.
