Seeking to Win More Orders in Indonesia

Samsung C&T has been qualified to participate in a tender for a general hospital construction project in Aceh Special Autonomous Province of Indonesia.

Samsung C&T has passed a preliminary assessment to participate in a tender for a general hospital construction project in Aceh Special Autonomous Province of Indonesia.

The provincial government announced the results of a pre-qualification (PQ) for the construction of the general hospital on Dec. 19, Korean media outlets reported on Dec. 20.

Four companies, including Samsung C&T, have passed the Aceh government's PQ. But except Samsung C&T, the other three were all Indonesian companies.

The Aceh government plans to select a successful bidder after the main bid in the future. The successful bidder will be in charge of designing, building, maintaining and repairing the hospital, which will be built on a site covering 100,000 square meters. The project will cost about 1.5 trillion rupiah (about 125.1 billion won).

Samsung C&T plans to put its utmost efforts into winning more orders in Indonesia. Ranked first in construction capacity among domestic construction companies, Samsung C&T set the goal of attaining 11.7 trillion won in new orders this year, but its order receipts totaled 4,393 billion won as of the third quarter.

Samsung C&T won an order to build one-trillion-won Jawa-1 Combined Cycle Power Plant in Indonesia last year. It is building a 1,760 MW combined cycle power plant in Cilamaya in the western part of Java, Indonesia. The project was 45 percent completed as of the end of November.
