Photos of Clamshell-type Phone Leaked

Shown are pictures of a device, published on Weibo, which is presumed to be the second foldable phone from Samsung Electronics.

Pictures of a device believed to be the second foldable phone from Samsung Electronics have been leaked to the outside. The device can be folded up and down like a clamshell. When folded in half, it becomes a square.

The pictures were released on China's social network service (SNS) Weibo on Dec. 19 as "Samsung's latest foldable phone."

The pictures showed a foldable phone that can be folded up and down. The phone has a display that fills the entire screen with only one camera hole left on the front. It has a dual camera on the back. It also includes a small display that shows time and a date when folded.

"It is not confirmed whether it is really a genuine Samsung product," said foreign media outlets including the Verge. Earlier in October, Samsung Electronics took the wraps off a clamshell-type foldable phone without a prior announcement at the Samsung Developers Conference (SDC) 2019 in Silicon Valley in the United States.

Samsung Electronics is expected to unveil the second-generation foldable phone at the Galaxy S11 Unpacked event in San Francisco, the United States in February 2020. It is expected to retail at about one million won, significantly lower than the Galaxy Fold price of 2.39 million won.
