Yeo Min-soo, co-chairman of Kakao Corp., speaks at the Klaytn Governance Council Summit held at Moss Studio in Seoul on Nov. 28.

Yeo Min-soo, co-chairman of Kakao, stressed that he will actively support the popularization of blockchain-based services through “Klip,” a cryptocurrency wallet that will be released in the first half of next year. Kakao is planning to make Klay, a cryptocurrency to be stored in Klip, available for use in various ways in everyday life.

Yeo said at the Klaytn Governance Council Summit held in Seoul on Nov. 28, "Kakao has already launched KakaoCon, a blockchain-based point system, and the company is planning a variety of applications, including the use of blockchain technology for identification software." He emphasized, "We will actively support Klip so that people can keep their Klay in the wallet and use the cryptocurrency in their daily lives.”

In particular, Klip was introduced at the summit for the first time. Klip is being developed by GroundX as a digital asset management wallet that will be provided through the KakaoTalk “More” tab. In the first half of next year, Klip will be released first in the form of “Kaikas” plug-ins used by web browsers before it is extended to KakaoTalk Klip. It can hold Klaytn's cryptocurrency Klay as well as Klaytn-based cryptocurrencies.

In addition to cryptocurrency support, the ability to store or trade game items will be added at the end of next year.
