'TV of the Future'
U.S. Time Magazine honored the LG Signature OLED 8K TV, the world's highest resolution organic light emitting diode (OLED) TV, as one of “The 100 Best Inventions of 2019.”
Time has selected the top 100 innovative products in categories such as accessibility and beauty, consumer electronics, healthcare, education, entertainment, food, sports and sustainability.
The LG Signature OLED 8K was chosen as the “TV of the Future” in the entertainment category. LG Electronics was the only Korean company among the manufacturers of the top 100 products.
“4K TVs have finally gone mainstream, and prices are falling. But another big upgrade is just around the corner: 8K displays,” Time said. " LG’s display is the first 8K TV with OLED technology, which allows for a higher contrast picture and a thinner display – the LG TV is a mere 1.96-inch thick.”
Earlier, the LG Signature OLED 8K won two CES Best Innovation Awards from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA). The product took home the awards for innovation in both the video display and digital image and photography categories.
