‘Giga Energy Manager Building’

KT models demonstrate a pilot “Giga Energy Manager Building” service at the KT Convergence Technology Center in Umyeon-dong, Seocho-gu of Seoul.

KT announced on Nov. 10 that it has launched a pilot “Giga Energy Manager Building” service that efficiently manages and controls energy in mid-sized and large buildings based on artificial intelligence (AI).

The Giga Energy Manager Building service combines a building automation system (BAS) with KT's AI engine Robo Operator and intelligent controller eBox. Robo Operator derives optimal energy facility control algorithms by collecting energy information from buildings and using deep learning. The eBox receives signals from Robo Operator and controls multiple facilities in an integrated manner.

The service analyzes buildings’ energy consumption patterns and automatically controls the operation of air conditioners, heaters and ventilation units with optimized schedules. Thus, the service not only boosts energy efficiency and reduces costs, but also saves managers working time.

The service does not need any equipment other than eBox terminals and electric and gas measuring instruments.
