Fire Breaks out on Asiana Airlines Plane Bound for Los Angeles

Passengers were inconvenienced when a fire broke out on an Asiana Airlines A380 plane departing from Incheon International Airport for Los Angeles on Oct. 18. The fire delayed takeoff for more than two hours.

The Asiana plane was scheduled to depart for Los Angeles at 2:40 p.m.

An engine defect was found during a pre-take-off inspection. A fire erupted during an engine test after the defect was repaired for about 50 minutes.

Passengers suffered inconvenience as takeoff was delayed for 2 hours and 40 minutes. Asiana Airlines put a plane of the same model into service to carry the passengers.
