TVs from Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics have swept the first four places in a U.S. evaluation of small TV models.

Samsung Electronics' products ranked first and second among the top 5 32-inch TVs selected by the leading U.S. consumer media Consumer Reports (CR), while LG Electronics’ products came in third and fourth, industry sources said on Oct. 3.

Consumer Reports ranked a Samsung Electronics QLED 4K TV (model name QN32Q50R) first based on an evaluation of the ultra high-definition (UHD) TV performance and high-efficiency high-frequency dynamic range (HDR) of 200 models. The model was highly evaluated for its excellent quality and ability to implement 4K images. It won extra points for its support for HDR and smart features such as Bixby.

Second place went to a Samsung Electronics high-definition (HD) TV (model UN32M4500), while third and fourth places were claimed by LG Electronics smart TVs (model names: 32LM620BPUA and 32LM570BPUA). "They are not 4K TVs but support an HDR feature," Consumer Reports said. "Their viewing angles are wider even though they are LCD TVs." A Toshiba smart TV (model name: 32LF221U19) stood fifth.
