Sparking Media Interest

Samsung Electronics recently registered multiple patents with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) that appeared to be related to sequels to the Galaxy Fold.

One of these is about a clamshell type model that folds up and down with a horizontal middle axis. Unlike the current Galaxy Fold which becomes very narrow when folded vertically, the clamshell type model is more like a foldable PDA tablet. It has six cameras -- a triple rear camera, a single front camera, and a dual camera in the open screen.

Another patent registered this time is about one which is folded the way the Galaxy Fold is. The product has an eight-inch display when unfolded. The current Galaxy Fold selling in the market is 4.3 inches when folded and 7.3 inches when unfolded.

“Samsung Electronics expects that the second generation version of Galaxy Fold will have a 256 GB internal memory, unlike the first model (512 GB),” SAM Mobile said. “The decision was made to lower the price and launch it in more countries, we think.”
