To Foster Global Startups

Participants at LG Startup Tech Fair 2019

LG Group announced on Sept. 25 that it held LG Startup Tech Fair 2019 with the participation of 40 global startups. The fair aimed to discover and foster promising startups at home and abroad so that the group can collaborate with them in the future.

At the event held at LG Science Park, Magok-dong, Seoul, executives of LG affiliates and representatives of global startups gathered to discuss joint research opportunities, support for commercialization, and investment.

Particularly, overseas startups from Canada, Russia, France, the Netherlands, Israel and Switzerland and others showcased their technologies in six sectors -- artificial intelligence (AI) and big data, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR), autonomous driving, robots, materials and parts, and biotech and healthcare.

The startups were selected through an open competition for four months. They showed off their core technologies. Among them, LG plans to select startups with promising technologies for joint research and development, support for commercialization, and provision of space at the Open Lab, an open research space at LG Science Park, and global publicity support.
