Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction announced on Sep. 22 that the Bintan 4 Thermoelectric Power Plant completion ceremony took place in Binh Thuan, Vietnam on Sep. 21. The ceremony was attended by Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) Chairman Duong Quang Thanh, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Plant EPC BG head Park In-won, and other officials.

EVN launched the construction project for a more stable power supply to the southern region of Vietnam. The power plant has two 600 MW facilities and is located in Binh Thuan, which is 230 kilometers east of Ho Chi Minh City. Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction won the project on an EPC basis for approximately 1.6 trillion won in 2013 to be in charge of the entire process from design and equipment production to installation and test operation.

“Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction has won a total of eight power station construction projects in Vietnam, starting from the Mong Duong 2 Thermoelectric Power Plant construction project in 2010, and this means we can contribute to the power generation market of Vietnam with our advanced technology,” said Park In-won, vice president and head of the Plant EPC BG of Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, adding, “We will work even more closely with Vietnam, whose power generation capacity is estimated to reach 136 GW in 2030.”
