Korea Midland Power (KOMIPO) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on business development and cooperation in the fields of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and renewable energy with global energy company Petronas of Malaysia, the state-run power company said on Sept. 18.

Through MOU, the two sides will cooperate not only in the LNG sector but in developing renewable energy projects.

“This agreement will bring KOMIPO and Petronas together in the fields of LNG and renewable energy,” said company president Park Hyung-ku.

"Petronas will be able to strengthen its partnership with KOMIPO, Korea's representative power generation company, and jointly develop LNG and renewable energy projects in the future," said Petronas Group vice president En Ahmad Adly Alias.
