Local residents try out artificial intelligence-powered home appliances at the “LG ThinQ Experience Zone,” a brand shop opened by LG Electronics in New Cairo, Egypt on Sept. 12 (local time).

LG Electronics announced on Sept. 18 that it has opened “LG ThinQ Experience Zone,” a brand shop designed to let visitors experience its artificial intelligence-based home appliances, in New Cairo, Egypt. This marked the first time that LG Electronics created an experience zone for its AI brand LG ThinQ in the Middle East and Africa.

The brand shop in New Cairo, a city with many luxury houses, is 420 square meters wide. LG Electronics placed ultra premium LG Signature home appliances, OLED TVs, TWINWash washing machines, Instaview fridges and Code Zero A9 wireless vacuum cleaners in the store.

At the LG ThinQ Experience Zone, visitors can directly try out AI-based home appliances. 2019 LG AI TVs, including the LG OLED AI ThinQ and LG Nanocell AI ThinQ, were loaded with Arabic speech recognition for the first time this year. Customers can also control LG Electronics' AI home appliances such as stylers, air purifiers and air conditioners through LG ThinQ App.

LG Electronics plans to expand the LG ThinQ Experience Zone in core commercial districts in countries of the Middle East and Africa.

“We will solidify our position as a premium brand in the Middle East and Africa that have great growth potential,” said Lee Jae-sung, managing director of LG Electronics Middle East & Africa.
