The Genesis division of Hyundai Motor announced on Sept. 9 that it has appointed Filippo Perini, former design head at Lamborghini, as head of the Genesis Advanced Design Studio in Europe.
Perini will be responsible for advanced design development for the Genesis in collaboration with the Genesis Design Office in Korea.
Perini is a world-class designer with a solid reputation in the design of luxury cars and high-performance sports cars. He has developed designs such as the Audi A5 Coupe and the TT Concept Car at Volkswagen Group and created the Reventon and the Murcielago as the chief designer of Lamborghini. In particular, Perini has been working as a consultant for “Italdesign,” an Italian automotive design company under the Volkswagen Group since 2015. He provided advice on design to global automakers.
"Perini has gained much experience with luxury European brands," said Luc Donckerwolke, vice president of design at Hyundai Motor Group. "He will play an important role in a transition into smart mobility, carrying out various mobility projects as well as designing luxury cars."
