SK Hynix CEO Lee Seok-hee left for Japan on July 21 to secure raw materials for semiconductor production.

Lee is expected to meet with executives of Japanese partner companies to discuss raw materials supply. He is also expected to explore countermeasures for the Japanese government’s expected exclusion of Korea from its export white list.

Kim Dong-seop, head of external cooperation at SK Hynix also flew into Japan on July 16 and returned to Korea on July 18 after monitoring local market situations.

"SK Hynix has been running an emergency system immediately after the Japanese government announced the export restrictions," said an industry observer. “But the chipmaker has difficulties finding the key to the puzzle, so the CEO went to Japan in person to cope with the crisis.”
