Active in Malaysia Construction Market

A bird's eye view of KLCC Podium Building

Samsung C&T has won a multi-purpose mall project worth 270 billion won in Malaysia.

The company announced on July 7 that it has recently received a letter of acceptance for its bid on the KLCC Podium Building project from Arah Moden, a property developer in Malaysia.

The US$179 million project involves construction of a 6-story complex mall in downtown Kuala Lumpur. The total construction period is 40 months. Ground will be broken on July 15 for completion in October 2022.

The complex will have not only a shopping mall and a department store but a gallery of Petronas, Malaysia's state-run energy company. It will also be connected to a new subway station scheduled for completion at the end of 2022.

Some sections of the KLCC Podium project are irregular structures protruding outward without columns. Samsung C&T has the experience of successfully completing the Dongdaemun Design Plaza, the world's largest irregular-shaped building in Seoul, Korea.

Samsung C&T enhanced its brand in Malaysia by building Malaysia’s landmark Petronas Twin Towers, and has now been carrying out projects such as Star Residence, UM City, Merdeka PNB 118, and KLCC Lot 91 in Malaysia.
