Bloomberg Reports Samsung Has Completed Redesign of Galaxy Fold

Samsung Electronics has completed a redesign of the Galaxy Fold to fix screen defects, Bloomberg reported on July 3. However, it is still unclear when the Galaxy Fold will be launched.

Bloomberg reported that Samsung Electronics is now in the final stages of preparations for commercial production of the foldable phone but still cannot pin down a date to begin sales.

Samsung has stretched the protective film to wrap around the entire screen and flow into the outer bezels, making it impossible for users to remove it. Samsung also pushed the hinge slightly upward, making it flush with the display.

Samsung Electronics will soon start shipping major components for the Galaxy Fold to its factory in Vietnam, Bloomberg added.

However, the time of the phone’s launch is not confirmed yet. Bloomberg said that the Galaxy Fold would not be disclosed in a Galaxy Note 10 unpacking event in New York on Aug. 7.
