GM Korea Co. sold a total of 36,451 vehicles in June -- 5,788 units in the domestic market and 30,663 units overseas, excluding CKD products.
The Chevrolet Spark led GM Korea’s June sales in the domestic market, selling 2,567 units. The Malibu followed the Spark, selling 1,183 units in June, a year-on-year increase of 13.2 percent, and maintaining its upward trend in sales for a fourth consecutive month. The model continued to receive a positive market response for its E-Turbo engine, which boasts best-in-segment fuel efficiency, and a new diesel engine that was added to its powertrain lineup.
The Trax sold 1,046 units in June, up 7.1 percent on a yearly basis. Its sales have increased seven consecutive months year over year. Chevrolet recently bolstered its marketing for the Trax in collaboration with social influencers masked rapper Mommy Son, personal trainer and YouTuber Lee Tokki, graffiti artist Artime Joe, and fashion model Gimu.
“Chevrolet is introducing different marketing strategies to align with the Search Engine for Real Life campaign, positively impacting sales of its major products, including the Malibu and Trax,” said GM Korea vice president of vehicle sales, service and marketing Cesar Toledo. “In July, we will solidify our position in the domestic market by offering unprecedented benefits such as Double Zero, an interest-free monthly installment plan that has no advanced payment, and Double Zero Combo, which is Double Zero with the addition of cash benefits.”
Before the summer vacation season comes, Chevrolet is launching sales promotions for July such as special benefits for customers who purchase their first car or have owned a vehicle for more than five years. This month, the brand will also continue offering a combo installment plan with a low-interest installment and cash benefits combined, and an interest-free installment plan for 36 months, as it did last month.
