Hyundai Motor's Connected Car Services Gaining Popularity

Users of Hyundai Motor Group's connected car services surpassed one million as of June 18.

Hyundai Motor Group announced on June 10 that subscribers to connected car services of the Hyundai, Kia and Genesis brands have surpassed 1 million as of June 18.

The automotive group expects the figure reach 1.5 million by the end of this year.

Hyundai and Kia entered the connected car market with the release of Mozen, a telematics service, at the end of 2003. Since 2012, Hyundai and Kia have been providing connected car services separately under the Blue Link and Yubora brands. The Genesis brand launched the Genesis Connected Service (GCS) in 2017.

Hyundai and Kia plans to become a leader in the connected car field by expanding their connected car services not only in Korea but also in Russia, Brazil and other markets. At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held in Las Vegas early this year, Hyundai Motor Group announced that it would secure 10 million subscribers to their connected car services in 2022 and apply the services to all models to be released.
