To Lead 6G Technology Development

KT Corp. announced on June 2 that it has concluded a business agreement with the New Media Communication Research Institute of Seoul National University (SNU) to cooperate in 6G communication research and the autonomous navigation business.

Under this agreement, KT and SNU will cooperate in developing and standardizing technologies for 6G telecommunications, developing autonomous navigation technologies and improving telecom regulations.

Accordingly, the KT Convergence Technology Institute and the New Media Communication Research Institute of Seoul National University will form a consortium to promote full-scale research activities. They are determined to take the initiative in global standardization of 6G technology and contribute to the development of Korea’s telecommunications industry through the development of fundamental 6G technologies.

In addition, they will jointly make efforts to discover and develop new technologies for autonomous driving by combining KT’s experience in autonomous driving demonstration projects and technologies for 5G networks, 5G edge cloud, voice-to-everything (V2X), 5G security solutions and Giga Stealth.
