Vietnamese market research firm Q&Me has recently conducted a survey on 917 Vietnamese adults aged at least 18 years and 76 percent of the respondents answered that they are favorable to South Korea, including 37 percent who said they are very favorable to the country.
According to the survey, 42 percent of the respondents cited Korean food as their first image of the country, followed by kimchi (28 percent), K-pop (21 percent) and Korean movies (11 percent).
When asked they like Korean food, 68 percent said yes, including 32 percent loving it. Their favorites included kimchi (58 percent), gimbap (21 percent) and tteokbokki (13 percent).
Among the respondents, 68 percent said they like South Korean dramas and movies, including 25 percent loving them. Likewise, 51 percent and 20 percent said they like and love K-pop. As for the dramas and movies, "Descendants of the Sun" and "Boys over Flowers" (13 percent each) are at the top, followed by "Empress Gi" and "High Kick!" (7 percent each).
As for K-pop, 15 percent of the respondents picked BTS as their favorite South Korean singer. Big Bang and G Dragon (12 percent) and Black Pink (9 percent) followed BTS in the survey.
When it comes to their favorite South Korean brands, Samsung represented 38 percent, followed by Lotte (7 percent) and LG and Innisfree (5 percent each).
