Kim Ki-moon, chairman of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business, says Haeju or Nampo would be more appropriate places for another industrial park in North Korea on February 4.Kim Ki-moon, chairman of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business, commented on the second Kaesong Industrial Complex (KIC) during the February 4 meeting with reporters at the 63 Building in Seoul.

He said, “The Najin-Sonbong Special Economic Zone that North Korea recommended has shortcomings. Its logistics environment is not good, and the power supply is not smooth, either.” The Chairman added, “In the mid-long term, Haeju or Nampo would be a more appropriate place.”

His specific mention of the two cities is due to the fact they have competitive edges such as their proximity to KIC and a lot of people that are available for jobs in the region.
