Helping Korean Companies Enter West Asia

Korea Trade International Corp. (K-sure) will expand cooperation with export credit agencies in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to help Korean companies enter West Asia.

The corporation concluded a cooperation agreement with Uzbek Invest Uzbekistan, a local export credit agency in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on April 19 (local time) on the occasion of Korean President Moon Jae-in's visit to Central Asia.

The cooperation agreement included financial support for promoting exports between the two countries, cooperation for joint participation in overseas projects and exchanges of human resources and information.

Korea Trade Insurance Corp. will also sign a cooperation agreement with Kazakh Export, an export credit agency of Kazakhstan, in Nur-Sultan on April 22.

Previously, Korea Trade Insurance Corp. provided US$2.3 billion for three gas and chemical plant projects in Uzbekistan, including the Surgil Gas and Chemical Plant led by Korean companies. Also, in Kazakhstan, the corporation also financed the construction of a gas and chemical plant and a transportation card system.
