A laptop from LG Electronics is receiving favorable reviews from U.S. consumers and media outlets thanks to its strong battery performance. Especially, its sales are growing rapidly and are expected to play a big role in boosting LG Electronics’ overall sales.
The ultra-light laptop LG Gram, which weighs about 1 kg, showed the longest battery life in comparison tests by Consumer Reports and CNET in the United States, said IT industry experts on March 11.
First of all, CNET said that the 15-inch LG Gram’s battery lasted for 13 hours and 58 minutes, the longest among the top five notebooks in terms of battery life among laptops launched in 2018 and 2019. The LG Gram was followed by Asus’s Novago model with 13 hours and 12 minutes, the 6th-generation model of Lenovo's ThinkPad X1 Carbon with 13 hours and 7 minutes, Lenovo's Yoga C930 with 12 hours and 26 minutes and Dell's XPS 13 9370 with12 hours and 18 minutes.
CNET tested the notebooks based on video streming via a Wi-Fi connection and took into consideration tested products’ screen resolutions and central processing units (CPUs). "The 15-inch LG Gram is one of the lightest laptops in the world and can run for about four more hours than its previous model," CNET said.
Consumer Reports also gave the highest score to the 14-inch LG Gram due to its fast performance and long battery life. In particular, the U.S. magazine gave the highest points to the model, saying that it has nearly the same size and weight as 13-inch laptops but its reduced bezel space significantly expands its display size.
The LG Gram laptop lineup was loaded with 8th-generation Intel Core processors, the latest DDR4 RAMs and solid state drives (SSDs). Its booting time is less than 10 seconds, Consumer Reports said. The LG Gram laptops received rave reviews in terms of not only battery life but performance and durability through the tests.
