Korean President Moon Jae-in will visit Malaysia with an economic delegation including vice chairman Yun Boo-keun of Samsung Electronics, vice chairman Kong Young-woon of Hyundai Motor and president Kim Joon of SK Innovation from March 12 to 14.

The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) said on March 11 that the economic delegation would consist of more than 250 people from 70 companies -- 13 large corporations, 14 midsize companies and 43 small enterprises -- and economic organizations.

The entourage included a number of SME entrepreneurs who wish to seek new business opportunities in Malaysia. The KCCI said they are expected to achieve cooperation in a variety of fields including the manufacturing, ICT, food and beverage and service industries.

The KCCI held a meeting of the review committee on Feb. 28 to select members of the economic delegation. The committee was comprised of officials from major economic organizations, associations and research institutes.

Park Yong-man and other members of the economic delegation will attend the Korea-Malaysia Business Forum to be jointly held by the KCCI, the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (NCCIM) and the Malaysian Investment Development Agency (MIDA). Moreover, they will take part in the K-Wave & Halal Exhibition and Korea-Malaysia Business Partnership organized by the KOTRA.
