SM Entertainment, which manages K-Pop stars such as Girls’ Generation and infinite, was picked out by a Chinese portal site as one of last year’s most influential companies in China, beating Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motor Beijing.

SM announced on January 16 that it ranked 32nd out of the 100 most influential enterprises on Weibo Statistics for 2013 published by Sina.com, the highest place occupied by a Korean company, and the only entertainment company on the list. Samsung Electronics (37th), Hyundai Motor Beijing (72nd), Samsung Apps (74th) and Shilla Duty Free Shop (96th) were lower on the list.

Weibo Statistics 2013 was drawn up by calculating the numbers of fans of Weibo, the largest SNS channel in China, posted content, replies, and re-tweets during the period of between December 2012 and November 2013.
